Fantasy anime that's pretty simple but effective in worldbuilding. It has the premise that people all once came from the sea but now, there are two sub species of humans, those who live on land and those in the sea. your back! They acted too realistically that it always made my heart drop whenever the ending song came on. I love the ending song so much!! I think everyone will too! This is the type of anime you'd want to binge once the story has you hooked. To people who get easily annoyed with teens and kids acting like kids, I advise you to not watch it unless you can see why the characters are acting the way they are. Do not worry, all is well in the end.
I initially dropped this when it aired because it didn't give me nice feelings but I had to finish it some day and here I just did. I came in hating it and came out loving it. That my dudes, is what you call angst with the best ending you could ever think of dammit! (well I don't know if I should call it angst but, there are scenes that make you just want to shout at the characters like: "Stop keeping it to yourself!") Watch it and prepare some tissues and munchies! Go!

Giving this a 9 out of 10 only because I don't see myself rewatching it any time soon. Sorry for the messy review as I wrote this while watching and discussing with a friend (don't want to rewrite everything I said all over again lol). I mentioned this anime in passing and that convinced them to watch it, and me having forgotten what it was about and why I was so bitter about it, I had to give it a deserving rewatch and re-evaluation.

princess tutu when I first saw it. It's not the same as every other magical girl anime out there where the magic is a main plot driver & is often used. And it's just that since everything is part of a story, it feels as though even if the story supposedly has no ending, it's a futile attempt for the characters like Princess Tutu and Fakir trying to do their roles just the same as every character in the story. Like everything is drawn out for Drosselmeyer's amusement that it feels so cruel and out of the character's hands even though it feels like they can change the story. Like why is Drosselmeyer still there even though he's already passed away before the story ended.
Is he going to go away when the story ends? (yes) Is he planning on dragging out the story as much as possible for his amusement? (yes) Everyone seems like a mere puppet just like Edel-san (yes). The world breaking in princess tutu I think feels more tamer as there is a constant reminder and awareness that they are in a story.. As far as I have seen Drosselmeyer also controls how much the characters can express themselves. Ahiru being the most free to do what they wish since Drosselmeyer is using her to move the plot forward by making her Princess Tutu & make the story more interesting. Since the real & unreal merge in their world, it's like the world breaking is just part of the everyday oopsies and is a necessary occurrence when they fight against Drosselmeyer's will. It feels hopeless though.. The roles of the characters are made in such a way that they do as they are made to do. It seems that only Ahiru and Rue know of Drosselmeyer's existence (that he is still an entity that can interact with them) and has interacted with him.
It's understandable though since the whole point is being in a story of inevitable fate. Even so, Drosselmeyer is treated as the one with the upperhand or a position of power. It doesn't matter that the world is just a part of a story and that they're characters with their fates partially predetermined: "I may be a character but I will get what I want despite the world being this way". I think that's how Rue sees it somehow because she is written as a villain when in her perspective she's been written to not succeed because she's an "antagonist". She's "unlovable", "cannot be friends with Ahiru", and "will never be loved by the prince". At the same time, she's just a random person that got pulled into the story like Ahiru. I'm glad I gave this a rewatch because I wouldn't be able to change my mind and find how wonderful the story is... That ended well and better than i remembered. I really teared up when Ahiru tried her best dancing at the end.
When I was in high school, I used to not like Ahiru's love being unrequited with Prince Siegfried but to be honest, Fakir had more substance. All the characters are actually written well with Rue's backstory reveal being the most satisfying. I wanna say that my favorite character is Fakir. Out of all the characters, his development stood out the most as he tried his best to fulfill his supposed role and the fact that he faced his trauma in order to use the power he has in order to fight back better. Not with a sword, but with a pen. I love how Fakir has used his own power to drive the story into a different direction but, I feel they could've used his power better like creating a different story where they can all live peacefully. But then again, that's just taking the easy way out right? Everyone has their happy endings.

Really simple, cute, and wholesome story. If you like slice of life and found family then you should watch this. If you didn't get it from the title, it's simply about a yakuza member babysitting their boss' daughter. Everything is pretty standard from the style being simple and consistent, to the story, and the music. As the story progresses, we learn more about the backstory of each character and how they wound up finding their very own family (yakuza or not). I love the gap moe Tooru shows whenever he treats the young miss compared to how he acts as a yakuza member. Since

becoming assigned as a babysitter, his expression and everything involving the young miss is handled in a more gentle and understanding nature as opposed to his persona as Tooru Kirishima the Devil and second-in-command of the Sakuragi group who is feared and known for being strong enough to wipe out a whole clan. Moreover, interacting with the young miss, Yaeka, helps him come to terms with things he has struggled to process before in life like his parents, handling other yakuza members who interacts with whether in the same group or not, and most especially, family.

Very Good (8/10)
This was a delightful and fulfilling watch and has filled the craving I've had since I've watched Honzuki and Mushoku Tensei (mostly Honzuki). I am definitely going to add the manga and LN to my read list. Now this is isekai! Simple, refreshing, but leaves you wanting more with anticipation! I'm excited to know how the rest of the story pans out. I'm mostly bothered by how OP the MCs are in isekai but Isekai Yakkyoku, despite having an OP MC, you can't help but root for them. Falma and the limited knowledge of the world with medicine

that's slowly growing... If only he can be in multiple places at once spreading knowledge and helping heal people. I think that's the part that balances the OP MC out. He is a literal god but sometimes gods can only do so much. As they say: It's tough to be a god.

INITIAL REVIEW:
[I've only seen 3 episodes of this anime so far as it is still airing]
So far, the overall vibe of the story and MC reminded me a lot of The Ascendance of a Bookworm and The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent. All 3 of them have the same premise in a sense... For example, Falma was a dedicated pharmacist researcher in his previous life, Myne was a bookworm, and Sei was a regular office worker of sorts. All of them had that degree of overworking themselves and trying to enjoy life as much as possible once they got isekai'd.
Isekai Yakkyoku is the same as every generic isekai out there, and I bet it wouldn't take me long to forget I even watched it. However, it has that same and simply refreshing premise that I have grown to love while watching isekais and that is finding the joy in living life or pursuing what you want to do in life). This isekai is mainly focused on "Medicine" and how the MC carries his previous knowledge as a pharmacist researcher into his new life as Falma De Medicis.
The art style is pretty simple but pretty. Opening and ending songs were very fitting in my opinion. I really like the ED. I think the story has potential so far and the way the characters are portrayed are on the more reasonable, unexaggerated side of expression. All the characters are distinguishable and have their own defining traits.
