STORY:- 8
The show starts off with a SOL like scenery were we see the awkward interaction with Megumi and Yuki who are school students. It was established from the beginning that Megumi hates the village and wanted to move on to the city to be an Idol. She is the butt of all jokes in the village due to her out of the box clothing. The only person she loves and has a crush on is our protagonist Yuki who hates her presence. The show took a turn on the arrival of a new family in town and we see Megumi dying in the very first episode due to an unknown illness. The series keeps having atleast one person dying in every episode due to the similar symptoms. Till the village doctor Toshio figures out that there is something fishy going on. Finally the whole thing turns into a blood bath as all the people in the village figures out how to kill the Vampires. At the end, the whole village got burned into ashes and my favorite characters in the series ( Sunako, Megumi, Muroi all dies. It was all KILL THEM VAMPIRES for me at the beginning but after the introduction of Sunako and seeing their backstories I rooted for the vampires lol. Also Megumi shouting "I never liked this village, It was all your fault" to the villagers before dying is the one thing I absolutely agree with her.
I wanted more screen time for Hanami and her mom tho, that sucks. :(
ART STYLE/ ANIMATION:- 6/10
Its alright, nothing mind boggling. The animation style kind of suits the mystery going around in the series.
Characters:- 7/10
The characters at the beginning was a hit or miss for me. I hated Toshio and megumi and Yuki just seemed like a arrogant asshole for no reason. It was really forced how he was cold to everyone for no apparent reason, but he grew on me at the end when he turned into a vampire himself and sacrificed himself to eradicate the last strong Shiki named Tatsumi.

Overall:- I give this show a 6.75/10 which can be rounded up to 7/10. Watch it if you like violence and blood and not really a fan of happy go lucky endings. The few episodes can be slow and boring but it gets better with impactful episodes at the end.
