All was good and well and this anime was on track to be a very average 6/10 clannad wannabe. I know it’s a visual novel adaptation and I have NOT read the original work so I am not aware of how the route is in the source material. Yet, in the anime adaptation there are PLOT HOLES galore and very very unfortunate and problematic depictions of women. Normally I wouldn’t say much because most anime treat women horribly but this anime goes above and beyond LMFAO. The main heroine gets beaten and bullied all the damn time, and when the MC beats the shit out of her they tell her that he still loves her and that it’s okay. ITS NOT OKAY! Just once I would like a visual novel where women aren’t subject to copious amounts of abuse violence and objectification. Quite unfortunate. Every theme in this anime is executed poorly and it is downright nonsensical at times. Constant attempts to get you to pity the characters. I usually eat up visual novel adaptations and romance anime but this anime is particularly subpar. I don’t usually leave reviews but I find myself compelled to allow other viewers to avoid disappointment. Please look towards the animes Air and Sola for something similar and far better executed, and AVOID H20: Footprints in the Sand
