This show is the perfect example of something you could only get in anime. in other storytelling mediums (holywood movies,tv shows, books etc) and most other anime romances they spend so much time on the 'chase' or the couple getting together. You end up seeing the same old reused will they wont they tropes. so many classic tired tropes when all you want to see is the couple together.

tonikaku kawaii; fly me to the moon is a masterpiece in this sense because it does not spend the vast majority of its time on this, as you've seen from the synopsis they get married episode 1. the show does a 180 on everything you thought you knew would happen in a romance show it doesn't waste your time its gives you what you want. Nice cute scenes to two people falling in love.

That was how the story is unique, but what about the characters? What comes to mind when you think of the typical main character for an anime/romance show? I always think of how bad they are at expressing feelings, how they never admit or express their love. most characters see someone they like then let them slip away or wait till the last episode to tell how they feel. Not nasa, he is so eager to ask her out he gets hit by a truck, then chases after her when he is clearly fatally injured, homeboy don't care. Then when her answer to him is only if you marry me.... he accepts. Handclaps for our boy, he didn't refuse then regret it for 4 epsidoes. Then there is the female lead charecter tsukasa. ever seen a show where the woman proposes to the man episode 1? No. What about one that didn't get jealous over a misunderstanding plot? defnietly not.

So in conclusion both the story and charecters make the show a nice and welcome break from how romance is typically handled in stories. A breath of fresh air and definitely worth a watch, I heavily recommend and hope to see a season 2 or more shows like this in the future.
