So, what is the University Special? It’s two short chapters that are not connected to each other at all. Expect the quality of extra chapters that can’t stand on its own, because that’s literally what this is. Extras that add nothing of value and you can go very well on without reading them at all. That said, the content isn’t exactly bad, just not much entertaining (this might change depending on how big of a fan of the franchise you are and how much satisfied can you get with mere additional appearance of your favourite characters). The addition of supernatural element felt a bit unnecessary, but at least it wasn’t another dream ending.
The worst part would be the panelling. The pages are littered with text, and not in a good way. The art is playing a secondary role in the visual intake when looking at a page, and that’s not something I’d expect from a comic. And it’s not like the dialogue has any deeper meaning excusing the lengthy text, it’s mostly just exposition because the chapters are too short to follow “show, not tell” principle. This is not helped by the fact that the art is average at best, so forcing it into a tiny bits disorganizedly placed between squares of text makes it seem unappealing and not comfortable to lead.
