The main character, Jonathan Joestar(JoJo) is a bit too innocent in my opinion. He is put into the horrible situation with Dio(Main Antagonist) and he barely does anything about it until years later! This is just a minor issue though.
After the seven year time-skip, we start to see characters put on this muscly form like an 80's action movie, which I think is a great attribute. We get to see two men built like mountains brawling it out and it's amazing.
Though this first part to an epic saga has it's flaws, it's still a great read overall. It has gory action, great art and character design, and an amazing story. Would recommend.
