Mirai Nikki is not for everyone since not everyone will like such a violent love story. I think personally it is an amazing series since it is a deep and well-thought-out premise that has an ending that makes sense in the universe that is built around the story.
The artwork is a very good standard throughout and improves as time goes on. It is showing of its age but at the same time, it is a nice read. Yuno for example in the first few chapters is a lot less harshly drawn considering the strength of her character.
Characters are varied and many since the show follows diary owners and the side characters that surround them. I can honestly say that I enjoy the development of all characters. You must remember most of the characters if not all have pretty traumatic situations that drive their resolve. Yukiteru you may struggle with until the ending but he plays a more emotionally damaged character than the rest, try to remember this.
From the very beginning to the end with the last diary, this series was a great read that I read consistently through very quickly from enjoyment. It gives a great standard of the source material.
