episodes 1 and 2 paint a depressingly realistic way aliens would be handled, episode 3 and 4 do more justice to what this series is really like.
once you get passed the first 2 episodes, the comedy portion of the anime picks up.
the only reason that story for me gets an 8 is because i want more back story to the characters, why are the dog ones the evil ones, i mean i get it, cats and dogs, but why are the dogs seen as the bad ones? why is it not the cats and dogs don't get along, but the dogs get along with others just fine. i mean considering this isnt a kids anime, some more back story there isnt uncalled for. some more back story on Aoi would also be welcomes, along with Kio.
i get it that this is a short anime, but there are episodes that i could have seen just gotten rid of for a back story episode. namely episode 9, that could have been a episode for Aoi, episode 8 could have trimmed the fat quite a bit and made it about Kio's past, and parts of episode 3 could have been cut to add in the dog races past and why they got the short end of the stick.
over all th anime is slow, ecchi, depressing at times, but over all worth while anime to watch, asside from my personal gripes dealing with backstorys basically absent.
as always, audio is 5, i am not a good judge, so the only way it gets higher or lower is if its immaculate or if its unbearable.
