From the very beginning Horimiya seemed like a wholesome anime to me, I fell in love with the characters, the animation, the plot and the vibe of the show. Because of that I decided to read manga. I’m so happy I did read it, because after the last episode I was really really mad. They skipped so much wholesome material and did not include it in anime at all. The friendship between particular characters wasn’t that deep as it was in the manga. I don’t want to spoil anything, but for example Miyamura and Sengoku were like a super fun duo in the manga, but anime didn’t show much. That disappointed me so much. Okay, enough about manga, time to review the anime.

It was still wholesome. Some episodes were weaker, but some of them were so much fun to watch and rewatch. This anime didn’t have steady plotline and I believe for some people it might be a red flag, but I really enjoyed majority of short mini situations characters had to face. Let’s not forget that this is a romance anime – comparing to other romance shows, this one had more romantic interactions between main and supporting characters. Also the relationship seemed natural, even though there were a few “kinky” things included, but hey, who doesn’t fantasize about kinky things while being in love with someone.

To conclude, I want to recommend this anime to someone who wants to watch something fun and chill with lovable characters, not too much drama, beautiful animation and amazing intro and outro songs.

(Originally, I wanted to give this anime a 9, but after watching last ep I realized that so much potential was wasted or skipped, if I was anime only watcher, I would have probably gave the show a 9) (“good” job, animation studio)
