I liked the premise behind this anime especially the fact that it was set in an alternate Japan during the 21st century where the Tokugawa Shogunate is still in power instead of Imperial rule being restored. I like how each character has a name that is related to actual people who existed in the past. One thing about the anime I really enjoyed was the animations. This is the first anime I have ever seen where the animations remind me of a manga, it is a very clever idea. Although the story was clever I think they should have put more of an emphasis on the main character I am referring the General. Although his samurai’s followed him without question I couldn’t get over the fact that he seemed like he had no ability. The anime shows a flash of his ability in the first episode which is what originally made me want to see this show; however, they really stopped developing him as a character as the show progressed. The ending was spectacular but the finale left me quite angry and disappointed. I do hear that there are some new ova’s coming out though so maybe that will sooth the anger. The show was good but could have been better and the ending was really good but hard for me to swallow.
