It follows the story of the collection of songs to an extent (I would watch/listen to them if I were you, it would make the story a bit easier to follow) however it doesn't follow them perfectly. In fact, I was expecting certain things to happen based on the songs, but they never did. The art is wonderful, and can really create an impact during stressful moments. I had to re-read this one to actually understand what was going on, which I didn't really like. But once you understand what's going on and what the goal is, the story delves into a dark, exciting mystery. I like how they included vocaloids other than the cryptonloids, like Gumi and Gakupo, while I do wish they got more screen time. Anyway, I think that the story was interesting yet confusing and the characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Honestly, I would give it a try, considering it was only 3 volumes.
