Story 9/10 - I really enjoyed watching this show, but not just for the fantastic fight scenes, or the beautiful scenery but rather the compelling story told through Thorfinn's point of view. The story is a tragic backstory on the protagonist, but it also focuses a great deal on the war itself and where the crew that Thorfinn is in fits into the war. The story is perfectly balanced and flows very smoothly, feeling like one continuous event rather than choppy arcs. While the show starts off a bit slow, it feels important to watch the slow parts and does not feel like you are wasting your time.
Art 9/10 - The art style is very beautiful, and takes a more realistic approach. It is no Violet Evergarden but is still a work of art.
Sound 9/10 - all the sounds sound real and the music is fantastic. Idk what else to say here.
Characters 10/10 - The attention given to the characters is insane. Every character has something special about them and are intriguing in their own right. The main stars of the show are Thorfinn, Askeladd, Bjorn, Canute, Thorkell, and King Sweyn. all the characters listed have fantastic character development. I won't say anymore so you can experience it for yourself.
Enjoyment 10/10 - I really loved this show. Everything about it was super interesting to me. Watching the characters develop and turn/ally on/with each other was super intriguing. The art style was able to keep up with the story's beautiful descriptions. The fact that the anime was based in the Viking ages was super cool to me and made me feel like I was learning about history (the show isn't historically accurate, ur not learning that much if anything about history, just gave off that vibe).
Personal rating 10/10 - defiantly my favorite animes and I would highly recommend this show to anybody who hasn't seen it.
