I was sick as a dog when I watched the first episode and my god, was it both the weirdest and greatest experience of my life. A radio show host describing themselves being attacked by a bear! No context at all, just them in a situation where they have to either run or fight a bear in the middle of the woods at the dead of night!
It was fucking GREAT!
And after that despite me getting better, the show never stopped being great! For me this show was my hidden gem of the Spring 2020 series since I only picked it up to fill a hole in my schedule. I barely read the synopsis at the time, figured this show would either be fair or less, and in my fever fit mind I didn't care.
But no, this show surpassed SO many others this season! Young mid to late-20 something woman goes from being a waitress to radio over ridiculous events and becomes a decent hit! Its radio in 2020..what do you expect? Fame and stardom in radio LOL
She finds her nitch in late night radio where different scenarios are presented to her and she has to act them out. And she does so very well! Very well rounded characters surround this amateur, hotheaded radio host. She has the sociopath ex, the chef that adores her but is also very kindhearted, the awkward radio friend who has hard to feed turtles, and etc etc. They're all great!
This show is both incredibly weird and touching in a way. I feel like in the end its a show of humans just being humans. Growing, not growing, living, not living. Its just about people in their daily lives. And also weird scenarios in radio at the dead of night. <3
