I'm not sure how this show got so popular with its poor storytelling and average characters.
The story is so forced to move along a linear path and certain decisions that the NPCs and the hero makes is so forced. String of inexplicable events that happen in the show really take you out of the story and sometimes even frustrate the viewing experience.
The show definitely had its cool moments and showed its potential, but those moments were soon ruined by the scenes succeeding it. I wish they focused more on its unique trait of having a protagonist who only excels in defense and has limited offensive options and wins battles with his wits.
