The art has nothing to note in particular to note, it was good but it wasn't anything that could particularly be described as "amazing", and would most likely fall comfortably under "average".
The sound in this movie is probably my favourite out of all Studio Ghibli features, the music is incredible and the sound design is extremely impressive. I can truly feel how much love was put into the sound design as just the opening song had me automatically bobbing my head along, as well as every other song that appeared within it.
Shun Kazama - Shun is a member of the school newspaper who jumped off the roof of the old schoolhouse to prove a point about something? Plot continuation convenience?
Umi Matsuzaki - Umi takes care of her siblings and does general housework, she manages a lodge next to the sea and likes to raise flags in remembrance of her father.
