Basically read anything else if you want a touching romance story, this is a pathetic shounen manga, including the obligatory harem, with an underserving MC. There you go, no spoilers, just don't read this.
Long Review: Here I will reference some other manga that I thought about while reading this dumpster fire.
Kazuya, the MC, and Chizuru have the emotional capacity of small children as grown adults. Both of them remind me of Sawako from "Kimi ni Todoke" but in only the worst ways and she actually develops faster as a character which is beyond belief. Chizuru AKA "best girl" does nothing for the MC aside from comfort him which he pays her to do. She even gives the classic " I don't hate him" line which made me LOL because she isn't even a Tsundere and it was completely against character, she never once even said she DID hate him.
This leads me to my next major annoyance. You know in "Domestic Girlfriend" how the idea of their relationship is taboo and they present it as such? Not here. The idea of paying someone to act in a romantic way is revolting but is presented in such a way that you would think Chizuru is performing a GD public service. Filling someone's emotional void with false emotions is not healthy, period. Yea both the characters have circumstances, but they lie to those important to them which makes it even worse.
To top it all off, the story is just boring. There is little to no "real" romance in this story and there is nothing else going on to hold your attention. No action, no comedy (unless you love revisiting the "Kazuya is such a loser joke" over and over and over) and no overarching plot like the keys in "Nisekoi".
I'll repeat again, this is the worse rom-com I have ever read. Read any of the aforementioned manga if you want something good to read. I know we are not supposed to comment on other reviews, but those 9/10 are total BS and I doubt they really read this with a critical eye. I can not fathom someone giving this more than a 3/10. I could name dozens of better shounen and shoujo manga.
