Despite lacklustre animation, I truly enjoyed Assassins Pride. I enjoyed the world, the characters, the premise, the art, etc. Which is why I still gave it an 8. Where the anime really fell short however is with its storytelling.
It's painfully obvious that the anime skips out on a lot of details which would have made the story flow a lot better and transition from one stage to the next. Without that, it feels very clunky and at many points I found myself asking "What the fuck is going on?" because of how confusing everything was.

The animation was also not the best throughout, fight scenes at points looked like they were legit powerpoints. Not quite Nanatsu no Taizai bad, but they were bad. I get that's not the focus of the series, so I don't hold too much against it.

Lastly, for a seinen, I never really got the vibe this was a seinen. It never felt seinen at all, the type of things I'd look for in a seinen anime were not there, other than just dark settings.. From what I've seen the LN and Manga do much better jobs of this than the anime so I do recommend giving them a read if you get the chance.

Overall, really enjoyed AP, it has one of the best OPs of the season and it gets an 8 from me despite the hate it got throughout the year and hopefully we get an OVA or something to continue the story.
