If I have to only rate this anime based on Ik-kun I would give it a 8/10! But the problem of this show is that it tried to fit a 30+- chapters into a 13 episodes show! And what's worse is that they didn't just cut out a whole bunch of stuff that would have made us understand what's going on! They had to add some filling scenes as if there is extra time that needs to be filled.
Btw, NO, I didn't read the manga first! I actually started by watching the show -> feeling like the events where all over place -> searching for an alternative that gives Ikta a better spot light to shine!
This is a quite interesting story with planned strategies rather than just fight scenes but If I had to recommend I would recommend the manga over the anime!
P.S I spoiled the ending of the novel for myself and wished I didn't. I'll just say the ending isn't the worst possibility out there but it's disappointing after trying to develop these characters.
