Despite the amount of hate this series gets, it is not nearly as bad as it's made out to be. This is evidenced by it being in the top 5 most watched shows here in Japan for this season. I think it's a perfect example of an anime that showcases the cultural divide between Japan and the west. In Japan, these types of Isekai are very popular due to them serving as self inserts for Otaku. MC teleported to another world, gets harem and very powerful, etc.

What I personally like about Cheat is that it does something slightly different. Instead of MC teleporting and leaving his love life behind, his childhood friend who is clearly the main love interest, teleports with him and they go on the journey together. It's a slight difference, but a difference nonetheless.

In terms of the writing, it's pretty bad here ngl. There's no real cohesive story and I'm gonna be honest with you, 7 episodes in and I don't know what the fuck is going on or what the fuck I should be expecting. At this point I have accepted this as a self insert, fan service, big anime tiddies slot in my weekly lineup and I don't anticipate it getting better. Despite that, the way my grading scale works is that if I enjoy something, it starts at a 6/7, in this case, there's a lot to improve so I keep Isekai cheat at a 6 for the moment. If you're into isekai and don't mind no cohesive plotline, etc, go for this.
