Preliminary (4/12 eps)
Ah Takagi-san, quite the spectacle to watch. When the first season aired a while back, it seemed like it would be just another anime. Thankfully, I was mistaken and it really delivered. If you've watched the first season, you would understand what I mean. What made this anime so great was the way it conducted itself and brought forth such raw emotions as you watched two kids have the time of their lives.

In this day and age when the focus is centered on having the best art quality at times, Takagi-san might not be the best there is, but the animation itself holds up well. Sound is pretty decent too, but what really makes it stand out among a sea of similar anime is the characters. You can't help, but love the characters and their faults. You have Takagi who's always doing the teasing while Nishikata is always on the receiving end despite doing his best to prevent them.

While each episode follows a simple formula and one can easily conclude that Nishikata maturing a bit and ignoring provocations or grudges would help him greatly, it's also pretty honest in how things are presented. The anime is episodic in nature in the sense that there are various stories presented in each episode, but there are still some small developments along the way and previous events are referenced to help maintain some form of continuity.

All in all, if you want a relaxing quality anime where two kids are trying to outwit each other, this is the anime to try!
