Overall, I enjoyed watching the anime, with the exception of first episode. Going back now, it seems that the first episode was only used for shock value to attract attention from the mass episode. I've watched a lot of other fantasy and adventure animes, with tags in guildhalls such as "Bronze, Silver, etc etc", but I've never seen one in this fashion. Normally, we follow a main protagonist as he makes his way to the top, but this anime doesn't do that. This anime was unique in the sense that it adds a hint of ordinary life. It doesn't attempt to make the protagonist do anything special. He is just an ordinary man killing ordinary creatures, goblins. As for the animation and depiction of scenes, it was quite gruesome, but I believe this risky move will be a progressive one for the anime industry.
