This is an anime where everything that can go wrong, does. Maybe, this rating was due to my own ideologies, but I did not agree with nor like the premise of revenge. Revenge was the main character’s sole purpose for the entirety of the anime. The buildup to that premise was horrid; the character “reawakens” and knows what will happen in the future, yet his first thoughts were for power and revenge. It was a fantastic anime with a unique premise. The vibe was very similar to the vibe in “Your Name”, except it was gloomier. The introduction to the first arc with Mai instantly got me hooked. From the MC’s interaction with his school friends to his interactions with his little sister at home, each held some weight. Each scene, episode, and arc had meaning. Goblin Slayer (Anime) add
Overall, I enjoyed watching the anime, with the exception of first episode. Going back now, it seems that the first episode was only used for shock value to attract attention from the mass episode. I've watched a lot of other fantasy and adventure animes, with tags in guildhalls such as "Bronze, Silver, etc etc", but I've never seen one in this fashion. Normally, we follow a main protagonist as he makes his way to the top, but this anime doesn't do that. This anime was unique in the sense that it adds a hint of ordinary life.
