Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (4/12 eps)
Jingai-san no Yome is a beastiality romance story between a gay polar bear-goat hybrid creature and a high school boy who this.. thing makes its "wife" after browsing the yearbook of a certain high school and hand-picking him like "I want this guy." The story itself focuses around their life as a married couple. A big "no thank you" would be in place, but on the other hand, this type of weird shit holds all the reasons to watch it.

After the beginning, it comes clear that other different -- but weird in their own way -- creatures dwell in this anime and them being married to a high school boy is a common thing to occur in the series. In fact, all our boys are just waiting for whatever creature to come and pick them as a wife. Great. I wonder if this is what anime girls (would) feel like whenever anime fans claim them as their waifu. Most of the boys are really into that waifu business and have certain level of furrie fetishes going on with their character.

Outside the hugging scenes, sleeping together scenes and bathing together... scenes, this series mainly relies on showing us the weirdness of these creatures (thank fucking Jesus) -- so far at least. This is best seen in their "super powers" and different ways to live in generally. For example, the main creature's nutrition mainly consists of bricks, which is quite creative idea at least and executed in a comedic manner. It looks like the future episodes might be taking -- erm -- let's say "the wish fulfillment" route to please certain people.

The art itself is rather simple, but surely more memorable than in other similar short anime series that have come out recently and which have been getting their fair share of criticism. I am personally only watching this thing just to see if it can offer some shock value and also to count how many times it makes me say "what the fuck" out loud. So far we are the 5 -- which is why I hit the series with a 5. This series only exist to please a niche audience and focuses on things that are hard to appreciate for any other reasons than the mixture of disgust and certain level of discomfort it has to offer. If that is what this series aims to do, then it is clearly a major success.
