I don't know how to properly explain It. But this show gives off a weird atmosphere to It. While some shows ( I.E Demi-chan wa Kataritai) Can give this nice friendly and energetic atmosphere. Shiyan Pin Jiating" Gives off I guess empty feeling, Nothing about this world feel really complete to me at least.
Two things I feel that contribute to this being such a disappointment are:
MC: The Main person the show focuses on Is just annoying. He's some little kid that for whatever reason Is In charge of the rest of his Teenage family. I genuinely think he brings down the rest of the show, Just by being there. He's also not needed. The show could've easily remove him and focus on the other characters that are better.
Expectations: I got the Idea that this will be about a group of mutants going to school and getting used to the new environment while also dealing with any prejudice or bullying for the fact they are very different. I thought the Blonde tomboy would be the main character with her brash personality, Caring little for what other people think. The story would be about her going to school with her family appearing every now and then. She'd also be getting friends as time goes on.
That's what I thought we'd be getting. Something of interest. But No, We got this really boring setting where everybody Is just lazying around an apartment and some annoying kid being a brat.
I also noticed that all the female characters In this, I actually like them from their personality to character design. But from what I've seen of the boys, They just aren't great.
There are also some dumb things happening like some grown-up, Harvard graduate and she freaks out and does one of the most cliche villain monologues of the anime season.
The art Is really the only thing I can give props for, Without any negatives really.
Overall, This show can be summed up as "Disappointment" Sure there are some funny moments, But that doesn't really make up for the rest.
