D.N.Angel is a short but entertaining anime. The story is simple, a magical theif named Dark, who steels things with his bunny that turns into wings, is sharing a body with a love sick boy named Daisuke, as it has been for generations in Daisuke's family. That's basically the gist. The story plot is pretty neat with random escapade episodes, then it all actually tying together in the end. I have heard odd stand points on how the plot symbolizes art history and how that in turn ties in with the story of angels and phanton art theives. Though this theory is much to profound to be true. This is a light anime. it would be very good for a first time anime watcher or for someone that hasn't seen much anime. The characters are cute, easy to understand but still intense enough that the series isn't mindless. Anyway the story pretty much remains this simple through the whole story since their is little character developement and shallow backgrounds to the characters. Only enough is revealed to keep the story going. As for how any of Dark's magic or the family's magic works, isn't revealed either. This is to make the series more mysterious or cheaper to write. The animation is rather good espeacially during flying or fighting scenes. As for major fight scenes there's only really one, and not much slice of life moments either so it can't fit into a single cliche genre. The music is very fitting instrumental peices, some memorable some not. Though the opening theme is very beuatiful and well done. The voice acting for the sub is incredibly fitting and well casted. However the dub is a completely different story. I wanted to shove scissors in my ears for the dub, so if your not into subtitles your better off not watching this series at all. If your anything like me you will fall in love with the world of unexplained magic, phantom theives, silly crushes, rival angels, and mildly heart jerking themes. I'm very bias torward it since it was the first anime I ever saw and got into. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.
