Upon watching the first episode, the first thing to stand out is the interesting choice of art style and the wackyness of it all. But as it turned out, this was a good thing - nay, an amazing thing!
Story
Absolutely fantastic, I'm so glad I continued watching. It starts out simple and cliche, easy to follow, but it's still interesting. At the same time, there's plenty of questions to be asked. The story progresses super fast, but not TOO fast, and it leads up to something spectacular. Amazing character development, fantastic plot twists that make sense, very few plot holes if any, and a fantastic finale. They leave no stone unturned, and the series closes off beautifully.
Art
The special art style turns out to be a boon. Yes, it may look a little simple, but they compensate more than enough by filling every episode to the brim with amazing animation and a board full of action, even during quiet scenes. It's unique, it's spectacular, it's over the top, it's funny, it's serious when it needs to be, it's filled with symbolism, it hits all the spots.
Sound
I've downloaded several soundtracks, there's some really amazing/catchy ones! Several theme songs are perfect as well! Voice acting also ++!
Character
So much character development! Not to mention the antagonists are interesting and unique, and the "joke-side-character" is.. She's great! She's actually funny and impactful to the plot, as is the wacky family. The main character has a very special personality you come to love over time. She's far from one dimensional, despite her straight-forward goals, and she grows throughout the series.
Enjoyment
It was a blast start to finish. Near the end, I was crying AND laughing at the same time for several episodes. Even before that, I just couldn't stop watching, eager to find out what happens next, and filled with hyper excitement. Bravo!
I suppose I should mention the excessive fanservice, but at the same time, it's integral to the plot, and literally every character gets it.. And I loved the nudist, he was hilarious!
