Reviews

I am going to review all 3 seasons of ZnT. IMO, S1>S3>S2.
Genres:
Fanservice:7 (More in S2)
Adventure:7 (Usually in second part of season)
Romance:4 (Here and there, reminds me of Yume de Aetara manga)
Magic: 5-6 (Depends on season, but magic is quite badly developed, esp for void magic)
Emotional/ Tearjerking moments: 8 (Usually have to do with Louise and Saito)

Season1:
Synopsis: High school boy gets summoned-> became "Louise the Zero"'s familiar->discover Saito's and Louise's power-> Princess' and Louise's history and related happenings->war-> Louise and Saito fight a war
Story:9
Very good, I remembered it is with little fanservice. Perhaps this is the starting, quite a lot of things started got resolved, and story progression was really good. Emotional, adventurous and funny.
Note:About Saito's and Louise's relationship, it isn't until the end of S1 that they clearly admitted to each other. So in the end we have a nice, quite conclusive ending.
Story progression: Very good
Plot consistency: Very very good. (Only S1 has heavy emphasis on familiars)
Character:8
Main characters seem defined with character development. Saito, Louise, Tabitha and (the fire girl)
Overall:9

Season2:

Story:4
Mostly about Reconquista and a war, with some new characters and character development of some side characters.
Tabitha and Kirche rarely shows up.
Every1 became strange, the girls other than Louise were extremely attracted to Saito from ep1. Unexplained.
Louise begins "bipolar syndrome", sometimes sweet sometimes cruel.
Fanservice (violent type). Adventure. Uneasy atmosphere between Saito and Louise.
Story progression: First few episodes: Very rocky. Second half of S2: Strange.
Plot consistency: Good, but a lot of things not explained.
Character:5
Character development on Tabitha and Louise well done. A lot of old characters gone for many eps, some new ones go into focus. Hard to tell who are the main characters at times.
Overall:5

Season 3:
This is probably the most surreal out of the 3 seasons.
Story:8
Reconquista were not mentioned at all, although the leader escaped. No explanation.
Ring of Wisdom (?) also has no mention. New concepts were introduced but never explained.
New characters show up, old characters return, but very little familiars are present, most of the fights are with magic.
Fan-service is still quite abundant, albeit being smoother than S2's and more focused on ecchi.
Louise becomes more heavily "bipolarised", and shift of mood between her being bossy and proud vs insecure and humble becomes more unbearable.
Louise's and Saito's unstable relationship seem similar like those 2 in Yume de Aetara.
A lot of parts in the season are very abstract only giving a faint picture of the entire situation.
Second-half adventure features friendship and teamwork, gives shounen feel.
Fanservice (ecchi). Harem becomes larger. Incomplete feeling. Emotional Tabitha arc.
Story progression: Smooth, enjoyable
Plot consistency: Very weak, sometimes jumping here and there
Character:4
Other than introduction of new characters (which are usually big-breasted) and reappearance of old characters, not much done for character development.
Never-seen-characters sometimes take front stage, when we barely know them.
Nice portrayal of Louise being insecure about Saito but some things regarding her not explained.
Old Osmand only appeared once or smth in entire season.
Overall:7

[For all 3 seasons]
ZnT basically is about a couple with numerous difficulties due to harem and their personalities. The problems they face makes the series interesting.
Somehow, the anime after the first season seems a bit diluted on content, and more concentrated on fan-service and a lighter atmosphere. Some crucial scenes were quickly moved over.

Story:6
Character:7

Art:8
Clear art. Advanced techniques used to make eyes look more sad etc. Facial expressions were good. Action scenes were excellent.

Sound:7
I love S1's OP and ED, and S3's OP. I like S2's OP but something seems to be missing. Sound effects were average, but voice acting was stellar, especially Louise's and Saito's, since they were in a lot of emotional scenes.

Enjoyment:8
S1 and S3 are great, I do not like S2 much. The fights, the comedy, the relationship problems between Saito and Louise were great. Friendship and loyalty are greatly treasured in ZnT.

Overall:7
Good 3-season series. Go read light novel, i'm quite sure it's much better than the anime in terms of plot for S2 onwards.
If you like the romance in this anime, try Yume de Aetara (manga).

PS.The official score is reflection of all 3 seasons.
