God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! with another season of KonoSuba and to be expected it's glorious with some flaws here and there but who cares...

Well LA will start this anime review by saying that this second season is by an extension of the first season with a bit more world building through our lovable idiot party and by all accounts, the craziness and comedy is ramped up twofold.

Let's start with the characters, something LA didn't put into more detail in LA's first season review. First would be Kazuma Satou voiced by Jun Fukuyama, the perverted karmic thief main protagonist and really, Kazuma gets his consequences and dues in this season with all the culmination of the offhanded events of the first season into a HUGE courtroom climax and it's hilarious. That leads into Darkness voiced by Ai Kayano's arc where we see more about her home life as well as her unpredictable marriage plotline, this thankfully gives her much needed character development she desperately needed in the first season although as a bit of a flaw to her mini-arc is that she'll be in the forefront with her annoying masochistic nature BUUUUUT we get to learn more about her and as to why she has this tendency in the first place. Once again due to Kazuma and his perceived perverted tendencies he gets the short end of the stick and later on Darkness' min-arc we get into..well finally a beginner's dungeon which also gets flipped on it's head with Darkness at the forefront again and another "threatening yet not" villain by the name of Vanir voiced by Masakazu Nishida and him as a villain as theatrical as he is, his hamminess in TRYING to be threatening along with coupled with Darkness actually made a pretty good combination oddly enough making Darkness' second half pretty well done. Megumin voiced by Rie Takahashi might have gotten less screentime and is a bit of a punchline now but she too got at least one episode worth of character development in the form of Yunyun voiced by Aki Toyosaki who was first shown in the first season's OVA and Megumin's one episode gave us a bit more insight as to why Yunyun has a friendly rivalry, but nonetheless development. Finally we get Aqua's Hot Springs arc and that is just glorious, everything from the setup, to the setting of the Hot Springs town who is actually affiliated with Aqua's cult church sect is just amazing AND is topped off with an amazing finale (like KonoSuba did in it's first season's finale). From all this, LA's favourite character actually goes to Aqua this season NOT Megumin (though she is LA's overall favourite character of KonoSuba) all due to her being a catalyst ALOT this season as well as her annoying tendency is there sure, but for LA not soo much this season as the punchlines to and from her were GREAT.

Due to the comedy being very much linked to our lovable idiots, they as a group as very good chemistry with each other, be it character jabbing of just having great comedic timing, the comedy just worked brilliantly with it's characters AND what's better is that the anime's second season expands on the world Kazuma and the gang are in as well as flipping our expectations as usual really helped make the comedy work well. On the flaws side of things, the ONE thing LA will take note on is the the fact that the running gags with our main cast is still looming to most of the characters, from Darkness' annoying masochism, Aqua's idiotic tendencies and bitchin' to the people who doesn't like Megumin's explosions and Kazuma being once again an asshole with heaps of lucky karma to him...the running gags are there. But to this defense, due to the world building being expanded and explained (as well as tying up loose plotlines and putting them to the forefront to work to it's advantage in making those first season one-shot episodes to be linked), it causes even the running gags to have a new spin on things (not just change of setting, more like a bit more of self-awareness and making fun of the situation to an almost Seinfeldian level) can easily diminish in seeing the running gags as a foundation to even better comedic moments.

In terms of animation done by Studio DEEN once again, LA will say that DEEN actually put in alot more detail and "polish" to their animation, sure they still have their purposefully derpy character facial and body animation but it being more detailed and polished they still had the same "flavour" from the first season. From what LA said in LA's first season of

"however LA kinda finds it funny that the character designs are "weak" although it kinda emphasizes the entire "playing against the guy going into an RPG world and becoming a badass" into the animation with it's weak character designs (though the character designs do look unique at least)"

Yes, this is still in play even if Studio DEEN stepped up their game in the animation department, it just got a face lift...but still same face is the best analogy LA can say about the animation.

In terms of voice acting, LA feels like the KonoSuba voice cast were just having soo much fun with this and with Jun Fukuyama's ad-libbing to the masochistic Ai Kayano to the tsundere Sora Amamiya, just this voice cast is as bombastic and crazy as the anime itself, what else can LA say but this voice cast is AMAZING, want to see crazily well done ad-libbing to hamminess that is actually worth it then this voice cast is pristine as hell. LA's favourite voice actor would go to Jun Fukuyama as well as Sora Amamiya all due them just having soo much fun with this anime and it CLEARLY shows even in this season of KonoSuba.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2 is a great continuation to already crazy ham-fistedly crazy world Kazuma and his gang gets up to, sure it has it's problems concerning the characters on-going running gags and LA didn't say this but some of the arcs did have a longer "build up-time" before it gets to it's climaxes but still even with that, LA will give this season a blessing (HA!) to it's flaws as LA still enjoyed this second season VERY much due to it's world building through it's lovable idiots and even crazier "mundane made awesome RPG elements taken up the rear" events to the second season's finale was AMAZINGLY done in how it was all setup and all the punchlines from it's characters.

This second season of KonoSuba is undoubtedly and obviously one of the best comedy of Winter 2017 for LA and for those KonoSuba fans, it's an obvious choice to watch this season especially if you want to see more world building and more Seinfeldian RPG fantasy comedy.

God must have blessed this season and Studio DEEN hit the comedy goldmine...because LA wouldn't mind getting a third season, because this comedy anime series is REALLY great, even at it's worst.
