The anime itself was amazing and I loved the originality in it. The art style of the character's eyes and hair was absolutely beautiful. If you're slow to catch onto plot, this anime may be difficult for you to watch. I had no idea what on earth was going on until it was thoroughly explained (halfway through the show), and while I like mystery and slight confusion, I did NOT enjoy being this confused.
As for the characters, there just wasn't enough development. Heroine spent about 2-3 episodes with each guy before dying and moving onto the next one, so it was hard to get attached to anyone before they were cast away.
Like most anime I've seen (especially the romance ones), the show ended very abruptly with no clear vision on how the characters were going to live their lives after the show ended. That to me is a major let down, and always one of the major reasons the show gets the rating that I give it.
