This is a little conflictive, I'm a fan of the whole Saint Seiya franchise in general, but I have to be honest.
Well the story it isn’t so complicate, like the original series but in this case it's all big saga, The Holy War. the war start in the second or first volume, being only Tenma, Alone and Sasha (this last one not so much) with a decent background history, introducing the supporting character along the story, thing that could work but it doesn’t'.
The problem is that characters like Yato and Yuzuriha are presented as the principal supporting characters but they don't act as that, they only appear at the beginning and being forgotten in middle of the story leaving Tenma as the only character, and the gold saints appears in the right moment to save Tenma, and beat the guy that is about to kill Tenma and his companions.
The story tries to make us think that Tenma is so strong but he never proves it!!!!, is the gold saints that beat the majority of the enemies, but they keep saying that Tenma is the one that should defeat Hades even though he hasn't prove to be that strong!!!!!.
Also the mangaka tries to make us feel empathy for the gold saints and villains (sometimes), in every battle that occurs, but this doesn't feel good, it's just a flashback of their past, to learn why they’re fighting and that way approve the way their beat the villain in turn even though they don't appear to have the force to beat them.
The battles are good, but sometimes you get tired of the same formula and style, but in some cases they can be very good, the art is good, but the characterization of the characters is not that good specially in some specters that is hard to tell them apart from each other, and the narrative is mediocre is very common that you will have to re-read a chapter or some pages are hard to read.
In conclusion the story is lame, the characters are boring and a cliché as the story, the design is good but not always, the battles are fun to read if you like the original Saint Seiya, surpassing the original work in this aspect, but the characters are definitely the worst part of the history, i know that also happened in the original work, but no so much as in this case; even though all the bad points it is an enjoyable reading if you are a fan of the original work, but if you haven't read it or watched I can't recommend it to you.
