I'm sure there's all sorts of reviews already, so I'm starting with the Overall first. With the entire 12 episodes, there was a bit of strong fanservice, or at least, strong bromance as I want to redefine. So to say, I believe the plot and the animation along with soundtracks balanced out that if you ask me, with the addition of the general humor. I'd definitely recommend this to males as well for those reasons despite the 'bromance' involved. And small reminder, it's not any lesbian theme if that's what you're expecting from because of the title, 'Yuri' on Ice, since Yuri is also an obvious name that people seem to neglect (lol).

Story, being an original story and concept, without derailing at the get-go, it got my solid attention. Every episode managed to hook me, mainly the choreography for every dance per character. You'd think there's no reason for Victor to coach Yuri K. except that was also proven wrong. Now another point is, it's realistic, the jumps and the falls, they're real and not easily perfected which was represented in the anime itself. I totally loved that.

Art, the animation was really smooth from the get-go (unless you're those random frame-to-frame type). Like I've briefly mentioned, the choreograph fitted very well with everything especially to the soundtracks which I was very amazed with. They weren't even going overboard with the skin's pigment at all either, it was done well with consideration. The artwork, wasn't anything too much of an impact for me except those strong "bromance" moment so to say, still not much of any big change at all so 8, it was in that aspect.

Sound, again and again, I can't stop going on with this but the choreographing was really good. Every new soundtrack for new characters, it always fits and matches pretty accurate. I don't think a lot of anime can ever pull that off. Each character also has their own theme so adding that factor...it was an eccentric moment. Although some soundtracks/skates weren't my favorite moment, it was nonetheless very fitting. I'd say...it covers a wide range of various types of soundtracks in a sense, including the OP/ED song. Scored my 9 for these reasons.

Character, Yuri's strong attachment towards Victor as his inspiration and idol, and as a friend, you can see how Yuri keeps changing and growing after being a loser previously. Victor didn't appear out of the blue, and they both were struggling in their own ways. Victor struggling as a first time coach while Yuri aiming to be the Gold medalist. Other characters that came along the way, they've had their own moments and developments, each having their own goal and motivation. We can definitely see how they overcome the challenge as well along with adjusting to the pressures. There's not much of characters to hate honestly so, I find all the other characters being very great, a 9.

Enjoyment, a definite solid 9 leaning towards a 10 too, I definitely enjoyed everything in a nutshell. The jokes along with the strong emphasize of 'Bromance' was amusing, the various comments along with my own expectations of the outcome, it was a pleasant time waiting for each episode every week. Fan-theories everywhere, innuendos, etc., even the other characters made me lost myself (like the Heartbreaker guy and JJ). Lastly, I was definitely curious about this series for my own guilty motivation but otherwise, it definitely went beyond my expectation in some ways.
