Story 8/10

91 Days takes place in the early 1900's during Prohibition. The location is Lawless, Illinois. One night, Angelo Lagusa's family is murdered by the Vanettis over a mafia dispute. This is the fuel for Angelo's hatred. Angelo meticulously weaves his way into the Vanetti family and murders them one by one methodically and ruthlessly. Violence, alcohol, and blood plague the anime to make it all the more satisfying and keep to the darker theme of the anime. The story really brings out the pure hatred in Angelo and how one significant event can take away everything from a person in a matter of seconds. The story creates much suspense and keeps you on edge. You anxiously await to see the outcome of Angelo's revenge plans and how they will play out. Angelo killed anybody to get his revenge, a merciless killing machine. You would never know who would die next. At the same time there is a battle of ideals between some of the characters that keeps you questioning who is right. Do you need a reason to live? Is revenge truly the only way to quench the anger? The pain? This show captures and stresses pure hatred. Nothing can stop Angelo's vendetta.

Art 6/10

The art is fairly average but it fits with the general theme of the anime. It seems more dark and old, as it should be. The animation is fluid and the lighting is emphasized in intense scenes and darker in moments of pain, suffering.

Sound 8/10

The opening is done by TK and his unique vocal style really fits the theme of this anime. It sets a very melancholy tone and reminds viewers this isn't a happy anime. The music for scenes is fitting. Atmospheric even. The voice acting is on point. Angelo sounds undoubtedly like a person who is empty, a shell.

Character 8/10

The characters in this anime are well developed and fit the images. Angelo seems exactly like a merciless killing machine filled with grief. Nero Vanetti is kind of like comedic relief and to contrast Angelo, but we can see that he can be quite serious and intelligent at times. Every character fits their description and no problems are raised throughout the anime.

Enjoyment 7/10

I personally enjoyed this anime. A little more than average, I must admit. It kept me on edge to learn who Angelo would kill and what he was planning to do. To be completely honest, there were certain instances that I thought the pacing was too slow but it wasn't that big of a flaw that it would ruin the show.

Verdict:
WATCH IT!
