Parasyte, you never know when to let up.

Coming back to this one a year later, and I must admit, it's better the second time around. Parasyte is about a young man named Shinichi Izumi who is one of many to get infected by an unknown origin from what we later figure out is a Parasyte who he respectably calls 'Migi.' The two of them at first seem very distant, but in time grow into a cool, sentimental bond that only they can understand. It's a formidable tale of two organisms living in tandem.

I have a strange liking toward the OP, it's catchy, yet just doesn't quite make too much sense. As for the Art-style, it's beautiful, but with a nasty catch. I love everything it does right, with the intense action scenes of two parasites fighting. But I cannot stand the weird "3D" animation that they sometimes throw into the mix of regular anime-looking things. That entire prospect ruins the art-style for me.

It does however get better with the characters. Migi is the most interesting here, while at first he doesn't seem to quite understand just what being "human" is, but he slowly starts developing a sense of right and for himself. Shinichi is what you would call a 180. He starts out as a gentle, kind high school boy who wears glasses and is very sensitive, but soon follows a path that most other in his shoes would want nothing to do with. Shinichi over time develops a sense of being able to control himself to uppermost limits, and for good reason. Pushing his body past the limits of what it is to be "human."

I must admit, this show always brings the unexpected. One moment could lead to something unthinkable in the next, and I like that about this one. This is a great watch and I highly recommend this. This was my second watch and like I said before, It DOES get better the more you watch.
