Story (7/10)

I'm not even going to bother summarizing the story, because you have the synopsis right there when you click on the anime. But, I will tell you that I did enjoy the story, for the most part. I find it difficult to say that because it took me quite a while to get back into the story after episode 5 or 6. I think it's been roughly a year since I started Psycho-Pass 2. This is not to say that I didn't enjoy it overall, I did. I just found that the middle part of the plot got a bit rocky.

Art (7/10)

I'm no expert on art style, nor do I claim to be, but I like the art style in this anime. The shading and colors add to the dark, almost surreal atmosphere. I really enjoy the contrast between the officers and the civilians. I might be imagining it, but I did notice a difference between the two and the former used darker, more menacing colors. I could be off the mark, though.

Sound (7/10)

As expected from Psycho-Pass, I thoroughly enjoyed the music they chose for the openings. I'm partial to the first season's opening, but that's just me. I even watched the last half or so of this show in the dubbed version. Disclaimer: I like both sub and dub, but it really depends on the anime and how I'm feeling. Sometimes I don't want to read subtitles.

Character (6/10)

I don't know about you, but personally I felt Akane was the only character (ironically, from how I felt about her in the first season) that I liked or felt any connection to at the end of it all. I feel like she developed well, and is a strong character compared to how she used to be. Otherwise, the others didn't leave much of an impression on me. I'm still not sure if that's good or bad. If the minor characters are too good, they take away from the main character, but that's the balance the writers have to find, I suppose.

Enjoyment (7/10)

I have a hard time giving the enjoyment more than a 7, because although I really liked the philosophy when I got back into Psycho-Pass 2, I didn't understand the ending that well, but maybe I missed something. If anyone wants to explain it to me in the comments I'd be glad to listen. For the sake of a spoiler-free review I'm trying not put a lot of plot in (or any, as I feel I'm doing right now) since my question is about the last episode. But anyway, I did enjoy the majority of Psycho-Pass 2, although I did think the ending to the first season was a whole lot more satisfying. I guess the problem I have with the ending is I don't feel fulfilled after finishing it, there's not crazy cliffhanger or sense of closure for me, it's more of an indifference.

Overall (7/10)

Overall, I would say that this is a good anime. I enjoyed the bits of philosophy that were peppered into it. Personally, I really like anime and stories that make me think and question things. This was well done and I would definitely recommend it if you want a bit of a sci-fi psychological thriller.
