I don't really like Nisekoi, but it was worth the watch. I'm comfortable giving it a 5/10. I like harem comedies and this fits the category well. There's tons of harem action going between all the girls and there's a fair amount of comedy thrown into the mix. Unfortunately, it's not very interesting. It can be fun having two characters in a forced relationship, but it doesn't work here. Raku and Chitoge fight way too often even for their relationship being forced onto them. Their reactions tend to be too showy too; every time that they accidentally say something that could people to find out that they're not a true couple, they would always try to cover it up with an overly affectionate display of actions. After a while, it just gets annoying.

What's even more sad is that my favorite character, Ruri, doesn't really have much screen time compared to the other girls; if the other girls were more likable, one of them would probably be my favorite. I love tseundere characters, considering that Asuna Yuki is my 3rd favorite anime girl and she's a tseundere. Again, this is a point where I think people tried to hard. Chitoge is more of a tseundere than any other character that I've seen and I can't stand it. She'll fly off the handle for no reason and than act somewhat sweet the next second like nothing happened.

I also think that the locket stuff was kind of forced and it made up too much of the first few episodes. All this information about promises made ten years ago, more than 1 person having a locket key, etc is mentioned; it was just too much of driving force for much of the early plot and it was really boring. I think this show had potential, but it just lacked the aspects to make it a more enjoyable show. I don't regret giving it a shot and I might watch the ova and the second season, but I'm not sure. I suggest at least giving it a shot I guess, but it's not that good. I would give it less than a 5, but it was funny enough to at least deserve that rating.
