ReLIFE

Art: The art in this show is pretty standard. In all honesty I felt that it was lacking a bit. My biggest complaint has to be that there was a few characters that looked nearly identical, and when we see the difference between young and old versions of these characters, the difference is negligible, hardly even noticeable. But when I wasn’t focusing on how closely these characters were in the facial structure area, i did like the way the uniforms were presented at the school. While this isn’t really a major part of the show, it is just something I liked because it wasn’t your everyday skirt or pants.

Sound: There wasn’t a lot of sound to focus on in this show. I do remember it being nice to listen to, but often it was under the action. When I did hear it, mostly it was repetitive and catchy. I can’t say I remember it well because I am writing this review in retrospect and It has been a couple weeks since i finished it. However, I can promise the sound isn’t what will get you hooked to this show.
Story: The story is about a 27 year old NEET named Kaizaki, who is presented with an opportunity to take a pill to make him look 17 so he can go back to high school for a year and re-learn social skills. While this seems like something out of a twilight zone episode, Kaizaki takes the chance because the organization ReLIFE will pay for all his expenses for the year he is in school. Through his time in classes he meets friends and even tries to have good friendships with other 17 year old girls (as creepy as that sounds at first). He really wants to better himself and through this whole series we watch him Grow and learn from his friends. We also learn more about the people of ReLIFE and where this project all began. This show’s story really pulls you in.

Personal Reflection: I have to say; I was so excited when starting this show, it was a little weird that they put the whole series on Crunchyroll from the start, rather than week by week, but I’m not complaining. From the start of the PV to the end of Episode 13 I was hooked. Every twist and turn I was there with the characters and the story. I must say that this show is a must watch for anyone who is a fan of slice of life stories. The comic relief, the serious moments, the friendships, and the story is all so amazing. I would’ve like a little bit more diversity in the character art, but I figured it out before too long. At the end of the day, ReLIFE is a show that you can binge watch and not feel bad about. Watch this show!
