And you thought there is never a girl online?...well errr...well duh of course there's girls online!.

Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta? is once again is a anime genre with an " MMO game elements" just under a meta-magnifying glass and oddly enough it works.

Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta? is like trying to change someone's view on reality to the online MMO world and simultaneously be a pseudo-harem at the same time and LA at first thought that this concept was done to death (characters in a game-sense anyways) however Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta? made even this work to an extent to the point LA got invested in the main cast.

In terms of characters, have a rather diverse and eccentric cast and heck even a main male protagonist that isn't such a dense idiot. LA's favourite character is the "waifu" of this anime being Ako Tamaki voiced by Rina Hidaka and her pseudo-yandere/shy tendencies warmed up to LA quite quickly, sure there are some quirky other main cast members, such as the "Schwien" tsundere Akane Segawa voiced by Inori Minase and the premium item buying president of the student council and the guild master of the main cast Kyou Goshouin voiced by M.A.O. What the best character development actually goes to is Ako and the main protagonist' Hideki "Rusian" Nishimura's relationship in both reality and in the game and greatly helped making this anime what it was, what's better is that Rusian ISN'T a dense main male protagonist and that is rather refreshing, what's rather weird and unique is Ako's take on her "gaming and real" relationship to Rusian and sure there are some melodrama here and there from both of them but we get to see their relationship develop (as well as a detriment) throughout the anime.

Many of the meta narrative takes place with the MMO the cast plays and the "gameplay elements" makes some of the plot the others is through atypical harem tropes (just to make sure, this anime isn't quite a harem anime, it's a pseudo one, Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta? is more of a romance anime with a gaming tag and a psuedo-harem element to it), anyways Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta? reminds LA playing LA's first MMO and some of the trials and tribulations LA got into talking to the society of the MMO LA played (If you really want to know, it was Elsword, sure it's the not the same classic MMO game but LA gained knowledge about MMO terms from Elsword, sue LA that it isn't similar to Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta?'s Legendary Age...LA...huh...no comment).

In terms of animation by Project No.9, yes this anime has lots of "animation facial derps" here and again, but Project No.9 had a certain charm to it mainly through the MMO animation elements to it and because of that the animation was actually decent enough LA could give some grace to the animation derps here and there, character design wise, they have distinct appearances and a sort of bloom to them which only brings out the main cast's personalities even more.

As for voice acting, LA just thinks that Rina Hidaka who voices the main heroine, Ako Tamaki had a blast in voicing her, the other voice actors also had something like this too, but seriously it felt like that Rina Hidaka had so much fun voicing Ako.

Ending-wise, they made something mundane made awesome in some respects and does give Ako a bit more of a personality accepting some of school life using MMO to do so. Romantic-wise, -sigh- sooo close...soo close. Overall, the ending was decent enough for LA to give the "romance" side some grace.

Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta? is by far for LA was a surprise of Spring 2016, it's not only from it's meta-narrative to it's characters but the certain charm of being somewhat relatable to LA's MMO gamer side and one eccentric pseudo-yandere.
