I had no intention to start with this serie, because the art and story didn't appeal to me. But it was highly recommended to me, because I was looking for a deep, complex plot with some dark elements in it. I'm very happy that I watched this show. It leaves me thinking about human nature.

Story
Shinsekai yori is an epic a about Saki. The pace of the serie starts really slow, it's to get to know the characters better and about the structure in their world. After their first encounter with the secret of their history, the story goes really fast. In just a few episodes Saki became an teenager and quickly an adult. If the transistion went slower, I would've love the show even more. The way the story is told is done brilliantly. The story builds up by every episode. It makes you really curious in the world they're living in and how humans will make their decisions eventhough it's morally horrible. The ending made a very impact on me. It still makes me think about human behaviour.

Character
Getting to know Saki better really makes you emphatize with her and understand her actions better. Although the main character is an average girl, she is really strong. This description made me feel connected with Saki. Eventhough you're average person you can be really strong. By following her life and see her grow up, her actions are believable. The romance between the friends is realistic, but It felt like the love scenes were just randomly added in, it was not neccesary. The exospecies is a spot on comparison for the submissive group of humans. From the beginning till end they couldn't be trusted yet, still I emphatize with them.

Overal
The art and costume design is beautiful. From the middle of the show I start really liking the show. The structual system of their society is thought out well in every detail, which I can really appreciate. I love anime's which stays in my mind for days even when I already finished with it. This serie reminds me a lot to PshycoPass but in a completly different setting.
