Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (22/25 eps)
I generally dislike second seasons of most anime. The usual plot point being that defeat made the team work harder to come back and get a revenge match. Haikyuu 2 is not gonna win any points on originality. If you have seen Kuroko no Basuke S2, then the story here will essentially follow the same path. I loved the first season, this one not so much. Lets get the pros and cons out of the way.

Pros:
+ Tsukishima gets to shine.
+ Some good moments with side characters Ennoshita and Yamaguchi.
+ Music is still as awesome as it was in the first season.
+ First few episodes start off strong with good, solid humor.

Cons:
- Hinata
- Hinata
- Hinata saying moikai 10 times each episode (yeah, yeah, I get it already, he wanna win)
- Insistence to potray Hinata >>>>> Naruto
- "Ace" Azumane spikes maybe twice entire season.
- Hinata overacting every episode.
- Give Nishinoya more screen time godammit.
- One Hinata wasn't enough, Hinata used kage bunshin and came up with Koganegawa, Lev, mad dog, Bokuto and Johzenji High volleyball club.
- Theres even a team full of Hinata's
- Gotta make moikai a catchphrase of the winners. Stop trying to make moikai the next dattebayo.

Yep, I pretty much like all the characters in the anime except for Hinata and most of his clones. Some clones like Bokuto are nice but the majority of them are just... ugh. Too bad Hinata was the main character. Would have loved to see more from Tsukishima's perspective. Generally in anime, anyone who thinks and analyses the situation is treated like garbage. Loud-mouthedness and foolishness is celebrated as key ingredients for winners. This anime does the same. The most level headed and smart players (Daichi, Tsuki) are relegated to side characters and dumb idiots get the role of main character.

6/10. Not a bad anime. Certainly entertaining for shounen fans. Maybe I am just losing interest in shounen in general. Your mileage may vary.
