Well, this is one of those unusual productions that actually kicks off a whole lot of UNUSUAL things in the MOST UNUSUAL ways, and it works fine for me.

This is not your usual yet still VERY familiar plot-lined anime. Never mind the propaganda and whatnot, it's all about how different we all have different ways to interpret things. Most people say it's the typical OLD VS NEW route, well, all I see is Science vs Fantasy [I mean, dragons exist in medieval times (lol)? That's news to me.]. It's like watching 2 genres fighting each other yet both want to make peace (Hate-Love.... Oh wait, Tsundere is way better to describe it AND I DEFINITELY LOVE EM.). Eherm.... M'kay, here's is what I can say about this series.

Story - 9: Given that this is an almost untouched plot route (Kinda, since Outbreak Company also uses the same Initial plot LITERALLY), I can't judge much without proper reference, BUT!!!, even if it's unknown to me, the tension and full-blown one-sided power balance left an undeniably UNBIASED point of view on the story's situation. Ignoring the propaganda-like feeling (Well, the JSDF IS the Protagonist force in the story, it's obvious it would feel like one), Guns beat Swords and Rockets beat Dragons combination is the MOST STRAIGHTFORWARD slap in the face for those who love fantasy, and I bet it felt good.

Art - 8: Not much to say. I did like the |C/Slide in| kind of display where different angles of characters can be seen without much of a change in the frames itself, but it did leave a lacking feeling when it comes to group to 1 character conversations. Aside from that and repeated parts, it's good. Oh, and I gave points to the Opening's art design (Personal points). I actually liked it (Personally).

Sound - 8: Aside from gun shots and bone crackles (Which I like), everything was ok. The Opening song fits the art design. If anything, I wanted to hear more bones breaking (But I guess that's almost impossible since they die before they can even move a meter closer to the Jieitai).

Character - 8: The MOST mysterious character in this anime is the MC itself. I won't spoil so all I can say is that him, even though an otaku, being a "Unique"-type of soldier was unexpected and quite a laughable surprise. It didn't add to anything but it still made him kinda special in ways a normal MC, with above-average intelligence or fast reflexes, will look like crap. Aside from the elf being useless, the other characters, including the squad members of the MC, where all good tier.

Enjoyment - 10: Having a pretty unbalanced war playing out, the one sided massacre was, in a sense, quite an amusing idea (*Cringe* I feel like I'm turning into a Psycho). Just kidding. It was that reality-like balance that gave the anime a bit of excitement. 'Fantasy never stood a chance to Science' -like theme gave birth to the idea of what was right. 'If the science side wanted to wipe out or forcefully conquer the fantasy side, they could in mere minutes, so why not?', this question is the real point I wanted to watch in the whole series to the very end, and I personally enjoyed it much.

Overall - 9: I'd say this is one I might never forget (I wish I could so I would re-watch it). It's not the best for all since there are people who see this as propaganda or people who hate the one-sided war, but it still gives an idea of why absolute power isn't the best solution to solving conflicts.
