Hey folks, this will be a review for Noragami. Overall this was really an enjoyable experience. One of my biggest issues comes with typical righteous attitude, but more on that in a bit.

The story is good. We follow a god named Yato as he goes around and helps people with their wishes. Yato however is a third rate god it seems. He is poor, and doesn't even have his own shrine. This of course isn't a problem to him, he says one day he will and dreams of having a huge shrine and several female divine instruments attending to him.

During one of his jobs he runs into a girl who for most of the story has an unfulfilled wish. The first few episodes are mostly getting to know Yato, this girl and understanding the world of gods, humans, dead, and monsters. The middle to near the end we have to suffer through sickening annoying character interactions between this girl, Yato's divine instrument and Yato.

The art is alright, nothing spectacular. The soundtrack was awesome and the voice acting was good.

The characters are a mixed bag. Yato being our main character is really fun. He is mostly childish and comedic. They play up the lower status god bit early with him getting clothes from gym rooms and eating out of trash cans. He is powerful but not overly so. His divine instrument which he calls Yukine is a young boy(middle-high school). He however has issues with his own death and accepting things as they are and is the center of a lot of fuss. Iki, Hiyori is the girl as previously mentioned. She is connected to this hidden world due to her actions early with Yato. Now she tries to get him to help her, but she is insanely interfering. Never mind her new found power and how shes ignorant about the limitations and dangers, but how she tries to be the moral good that is trying to correct Yato. Watching her interfere with Yukine is like having someone come over to your house and start feeding your dog treats or food from their plate and telling you its fine.

The other characters play a supporting role. They seem rooted in the story but we don't get to learn much about them.

Overall I enjoy Noragami. I hated dealing with Hiyori. The story started off comical and less action based and I wished they stayed with that. However they went off into crappy growing pains drama and moral backbone interfering character. This took the focus away from Yato and gave it to Yukine and Hiyori but we know next to nothing about them after its all said and done. That being said, the world of gods and divine instruments and how they interact with one another and with humans was really well done and fun. The world building was solid and I loved it, the characters/story could have been better. Still looking forward to season 2.

TLDR: Pretty good. Kinda funny, great world building, poor character conflict for the majority of the show. I would recommend this to anyone who likes shows with hidden powers or gods.
