Mixed Feelings
I love this show. It gets me pumped up no matter what. But I just cannot agree with the direction it insists on going. I love the show, but I hate the two main characters. I hate Kuroko and I hate Kagami. I love Kise, I hate Aomine. I love Midorima and hate Murasakibara.

I love characters who put their blood and sweat and battle it out in a long drawn battle. Inspiring themselves when they are down, forcing themselves to never give up and charge on. Kuroko no basket has many characters like these who I really love. Kise, Midorima, Hyuga and my favorite character of this season Kiyoshi Teppei.

I hate that the show's essential message is that naturally born gifted people are better than those who work hard and bleed and sweat for their dreams. Essentially Kagami who was built as a solid protag in the first season and was shown as a guy who never gives up, well they made him special. He is chosen, he is part of a select few who can awaken and go into the ZONE. You remember that cool guy Aomine from the first season. The guy who trained so hard he was bored, well he is awesome coz he can go into the ZONE. The season ends in the same dull, uninspired way when Kagami beats his "brother" Himuro by going into the ZONE. Nevermind that Himuro worked his ass off to achieve his dreams. Oh and he couldn't do it on his own, he had to rely on the worst character in the anime Murasakibara to achieve his dreams.

This should have been Kiyoshi Teppei's story, not Kuroko. To all those saying Kuroko is like Teppei, er nope. Kuroko a guy who has never played shoot before, mastered shoot in like 1 week. Wouldn't be surprised if they give him ZONE next season.

Great first season, extremely disappointing second season saved only by Hyuga and Kiyoshi. God damn, make Kiyoshi the main character already.
