This anime is stupid. Well, Non Non Biyori has always been.

Non Non Biyori Repeat is one of those anime that take a while to catch on. But still just nothing special. It was interesting that this whole anime is like a flashback that mirrors over the course of the year of the first season.

It was a lot slower than I expected. From the plot, I knew it was a slow-paced series, but after coming with different expectations due to the more light-hearted and faster first season, I thought that this was just very mediocre. The characters had gotten worse as did its story.

It didn't have that many jokes in it, but one joke fell flat, which is the parody to Pretty Cure. I couldn't even read the subtitles, they went so fast.

Hotaru, the crybaby is more stupider than I remember, like when she walked the dog by herself and gets lost. I know it's a common cliche for a child to get lost, but it's pretty much gotten old now. Her parents should be worrying about her by now. (Actually, I do not know why these children go around the countryside by themselves. I don't know if there's different rules in country Japan or what).

Komari is a little less vain now, which is an improvement. But I still don't like how Hotaru submits to calling her Senpai when that's going to make her feel empowered. And Natsumi has gotten more random than before like when she tried to scare/touch a praying mantis, how disgusting! And, Ren-chan has gotten more random, too.

The story has also gotten worse, like I said, it's too slow compared to the first season, which has little drama to it. I know that they're shoehorning in more development. The plot is pretty hard-to-follow but not to the point of being totally confusing and bad for kids as opposed to grown-ups.

Now for the voice acting, it was decent but Rin still has a bit of that scratchy voice from the first season. But Hotaru's doesn't fit her.

The animation seemed like it skipped a few frames and the art looks unfinished. They're also you're typical anime style. Nothing new.

Still, the anime is not without its heart-warming so it's not completely disappointing but still average. The characters are relateable (but don't have unique traits), especially Rin-chan but the relationships just didn't click with me. The characters are not without their cliched moments. They haven't changed that much. Sometimes the characters veer between acting their age to acting older than they really are. So, it's a mixed bag.
