If you watched Kuroko no Baskett, this is EXACTLY the same, players find players that they used to play with/against, they are underdogs, they lose, get better, they win. EXACTLY like Kuroko No Baskett, but with Volleyball, if you didn't like Kuroko, there's a COLOSSAL chance you won't like this, but if you DID like Kuroko no Baskett, chances are, you'll like this just as much if not more.
It has way more comic reliefs and way less pointless drawn out conversations, everything is short, concise and it doesn't feel like you're getting cheated out of an episode at any given moment, action packed start to end. They definitely have more knowledge about Volley than KnB had about Baskett, and pretty much every move (to the exception maybe of the main character's speed but I think it's supposed to be seen as an exaggeration other than mach 5 speed) is legitimate, no one jumps 7 feet into the floor or goes "in the zone", it's pretty realistic play.
Even in the characters' personalities you will find many similarities to KnB, so yeah, what was meant to be a smart ass review saying "welcome to Hinata No Volleyball" turned into a friendly comparison between both animes.
By the way, the soundtrack and animation in this one is just as pristine, so, yeah.
If you didn't watch Kuroko however, ignore this review!
