I never thought I'd see a Bill Watts reference in a modern anime.

Story:
Nichijou is mostly an episodic comedy, but there are little stories being told. Nanos struggle with her robotic identity, Nakamura trying to catch her, Misatos crush on Sasahara, Mios drawings and quite a few more. This is a pretty cool mixture that not only gives you tons of sketches but also makes you interested in (and hopefully care about) the characters. Most things are wrapped up in the final episode (more or less). I wish some characters got more focus, but the diversity makes for a very entertaining watch.

Art:
Simplistic as in other comedies most of the time, but we get some art shift every now and then. I still think simplicity is the best choice for a pure comedy and Nichijou reassures me in that opinion. I especially loved the parts were it drifts into absurdity, that was pure gold.

Sound:
The voices are all good I think, especially Yuuko and the professor have a lot of time to shine. The first opening wasn't bad, but the second was amazing. That was one of the most chaotic pieces of music I've heard, which is more than fitting for this partially bizarre anime. The first ending song was nice, but nothing too special, the second ending got multiple different songs accompanying it, which were either hit or miss.

Characters:
The variety of characters is one of the strenghts of Nichijou, be it the main or side characters. What I thought was a good idea was splitting up the bad characteristics of Azumangas Tomo and divide them between Yuuko and Mai. These two are a lot more likeable than Tomo AND they both get their comeuppances every now and then. Misato is a great tsundere parody, Nano and the professor are just plain cute and funny and all the other characters are just as entertaining (I could keep going for hours).

Enjoyment:
This anime was a lot of fun. The 26 episodes passed by in no time. All the characters, all the jokes, the running gags, the good feeling when something actually went right for someone. I can safely say that Nichijou was a great comedy in every aspect. If there is something I could criticize it's that some gags are dragged out quite a bit. Some people don't like that, but I found it to still be within my personal boundaries. If you're looking for a funny timekiller, Nichijou is a good choice.
