Preliminary (8/12 eps)
Are you feeling blue or depressed? If you are, just skip it.
Go watch something else. Kuroko no Basuke or Akatsuki no Yona, two very different animes, but that might entertain and cheer you up.

If you are still here, then remember I've warned you.

In my point of view, there are only three possible reasons for people to want to watch School Days.
• the ecchi in it.
• the hype about it (you know, the whole either love or hate kind of deal)
• or you know the ending.

I won't spoil anything for you, but it is easy to have this show's ending jumping at your face if you google anything about it. Normally I'd say: don't. Here I say: whatever. I had this way and I didn't feel upset like I normally would.

So what was my reason? The second one. I know people who abhor it and others who love it. After listening to them, I had a feeling that this wouldn't my thing either, but I wanted to have arguments about it so I chose to watch it and - why not - give it a chance. I remember thinking "alright i doubt it is that good, but it can't be THAT bad..." well, I'd been warned.

IMO, this anime's hype is solely based on the ending. There's nothing special about the rest of it.

• The animation and art? poor. stiffed drawings, poor reactions, cold and poor quality coloring.

• The characters are BOAAAAAH-ring. Really. School can't be this lifeless in Japan or anywhere... And hey, I'm (half) Swiss, we are known as boring ppl and this here is waaaaaaaay over the line for me.

• The story goes like this:
So you have this guy who likes girl A but but is shy to admit it. So comes girl B who insists on helping him to confess and get together with girl A. After this happens we see how girl B is actually putting herself in second place since she actually likes this guy.
When this guy and girl A become a couple, he has problems with the fact that all he wants is to get their relationship to the other levels but his girlfriend is too shy and meek to follow his lead (Fans from Naruto's Hinata may as well like this girl)
So he's got a problem and girl B is there to help him with the excuse that they'd only be "training". She lets him get smarty with her, groping and the whole ordeal. So she becomes more interesting to him than prude girl A.
That's basically it.
He switches from and to between both of them and others. He's mainly after boobs, it's that simple. The problem is: he doesn't end things with whoever he is with. So, considering this is High School, no matter how mundane and dull, this causes many confusions.

I feel bad for the girls... You can't blame them.

To end this, I see two things here:
While the story is based simply on this ongoing betrayal and moments of ecchi and sex (if you get the raw version) you get, the show's hype is about the ending.

I've watched till episode 8 because I couldn't bring myself to go through four more of these. So I've read a little, just to get the idea and well I don't need more than this.
The feeling it leaves on you is of depression. Not the good kind where you feel philosophical and stuff, but the kind of feeling like you've wasted your time when you could easily be watching something better.
