Hey folks, this will be my review for a steaming pile of... wait I mean Psycho-Pass 2. Its easy to get those two things confused. Pyscho-Pass 2 takes everything that was good about the first series and removes it, doubles the amount of annoying characters and installs more illogical arguments and situations and serves it up in a much more manageable size of 11 episodes. Lets begin the review and hopefully validate this terrible score.

First the story takes place a short time after the events of the first series. Akane is now head inspector, a few enforcers are gone for various reasons and a new detective joins the group. The story begins much the same way as the first season, an event occurs but it seems to be the work of some master criminal pulling the strings from the background. Akane and gang then go on an investigation to figure out who it could possibly be. Of course during the investigation they forget some of the events of the first season and ask silly questions like is it possible to fool the sybil system? We also have new information given to us or rather crammed in to the show in order to try and patch up some of the story holes.

The story picks up towards the middle again, as though it needs the extra speed to kill itself with the last few episodes. Plots within plots and failed logic abound as everyone's favorite detective comes to the rescue of justice. Does justice prevail? Well that's up to you to find out. There were a few interesting conversations towards the end but really the simple fact that its over is its saving grace.

Now lets talk about the characters a little. Akane is only slightly annoying in this season though I'm sure this is again do to the choice to mask her poor character behind a more annoying character (Mika Shimotsuki) who is seemingly trying to win backstabbing cunt of the year award. The enforcers have little significance this time around and the only one worth a mention is the new enforcer (Sakuya Tougane) who plays a seemingly intricate part in the muddled story. The other characters only got a short scene here or there to show that they still are alive and to make it seem perfectly normal that every character is a master criminal, world level hacker, super charismatic leader, tireless bad ass and a telepath. Again there are a few interesting interactions and my hopes got raised towards the end of the show as some interesting developments arise for Mika, but sadly they were quickly let down.

Art and sound again were very well done. Cant have any complaints here.

My enjoyment of the show was not existent. I wanted to finish it so I didn't have to restart it in the future. The show takes itself to seriously to behave in the manner that it did. This time it doesn't even matter about whether or not you agree with the terms of "justice". This season was bad because it felt like it was written for children to say "Wow this is deep" as they pretend to their friends that they understood it and try to gain some level of cool or maturity from their lies. Luckily I had no emotional attachment to the show so I was able to just steamroll through the episodes in only minor frustration and unfortunate boredom.

TLDR: Did you watch the first season? Do you have plans to watch the first season? If yes then watch this and be disappointed. If no, then stay the hell away.
