Ergo Proxy was the first anime that really makes me go deeper. Instead of focusing on more about the product, they just focuses more on the art and it's meaning it. In other words, Ergo Proxy is not your typical Saturday morning children's anime that has whackier setting focuses more on the bright side. It turns out, Ergo Proxy is all about the more serious type of anime composes more on about the mystery and supernatural with some philosophical question about it.
Ergo Proxy is all about the story of a man named, Vincent Law a guy who has no idea who really is and he wants to journey back to his mainland to know who really is and why he doesn't remember anything. On the other hand, Re-l Meyer, an investigator, is also doing her own job and also. to know who is Vincent really is.
This anime is composes of not one but two protagonist. The character development here in this anime is pretty fantastic. The storyline is very compelling and deep, and also, some of these episodes are going to make you bizarre to understand due to it's psychological meaning behind it, which is pretty artistic and complex if you understand it. But the biggest plot twist here are the proxies, trust me, they are going to messed up your mind. It's a psychological twist though. And if you didn't understand it, you may consult the summaries of each episodes due to it's deep atmosphere of the anime. But there's a certain flaws that made this anime awkward, although it is not a hundred percent dark, there are not one, but two awkward episodes that you must look forward to. One is a game show that parodied a popular game show, and a Disney Theme park controlled by a proxy.
Also, due to it's nature of this anime. Expect some dialogue heavy of each of the episodes. It might give you some information in every aspects of this anime.
Pretty much so, this anime is awesome and a must watch anime. It could also tell about the future of our planet once we let the robots came on our lives, what are the pros and cons of it, about the Earth's condition if we just forget about the environment that mother earth gave us and the roles of every proxies around it. Everything has a question that lies deep in this anime. It's deep and dark atmosphere in this anime is making this more watchable. So if you don't understand it, why bother re-watching it again?
