I wish I could call up a god with a press of a button on a cell phone. And for 10 cents! I would call Yato any day! :D But nooo….I live in the real world where no spirits exist…or do they? Dun dun DUNNNNN!

Story: 7/10

If I received five yen every time a demon/god/spirit sort of show was created, I would probably have…I don’t know…probably over 100 yen or something. Either way, this plot is overused. Cliché, but very, very addicting none the less. There is some sort of suspenseful addition in this anime. Perhaps it’s because the characters seem so…weak and yet they can destroy a whole city if they want. There is also the hilarity of it all too. This girl just wants her body back and yet this all powerful God nobody has heard about is just ignoring her all the way making her follow him to gods knows where. The conflict being man vs. God or God vs. God….uh…strange conflict…also brings the interest level up since the antagonist is a little girl. Yeah…it’s a strange dilemma.

Art: 9/10

So pretty! I loved the design of the characters, the brightness of the artwork and colour, the background…it was all so original! It brought out the new style in anime. It’s fresh! It’s new! It’s very shiny. The character designs are the same. They’re a style I actually like. Seems like the animators understand that not all anime needs to have colourful, big eyed characters. This is what I like to see.

Sound: 9/10

The voices of these characters weren’t bad. They really weren’t. I am currently watching Noragami: Aragoto in subbed of course, but I’ll be re-watching it when it’s in dubbed. The voice actors were very well picked and they really match the character’s personality well. I’m impressed with it! The opening song…now Hellow Sleepwalkers’ Goya no Machiawase is one of the best opening song I’ve ever heard. It was catchy; it set the tone of the anime well. I loved it! Perfect opening!

Character: 9/10

I loved Yato. As you can see, he’s currently on my favourite character list. Reason? He’s funny, he acts silly and can be a total idiot sometimes, but he’s probably the strongest character in this anime, and of course…he’s a BLOODY GOD! He doesn’t try enough with his powers I feel. And because he’s a God, he has so much potential in Aragoto. The other thing is his eyes! They are so….beautiful! Okay…enough of the fan girling. His past has an interesting start. I’m really excited to know more and more about him!

Yukine is absolutely adorable! As a shinki, this guy as a lot of potential to become a powerful weapon. I have a feeling Yato will train him in a hidden way to become so. The relationship between these two are growing too. Their brother/brother relationship shows that these two hold a strong bond from the beginning. I would love to see Yukine before he became a shinki. His past does seem somewhat interesting.

Hiyori is probably one of the only female main characters I actually like. I find it hilarious she goes out of her body without her knowing. She also has a bond between these two boys that cannot be broken. Although it might be tragic when this all ends, I’m very interested in Yato and her’s relationship. They have some what a romantic connection.

These characters have a development ongoing. This second season will determine what these characters will do and perhaps the outcome.

Enjoyment/Overall: 8/10

I loved this anime. Although it might not be on my favourite it is in my “might not be my favourites but still pretty awesome anime” list. I couldn’t stop watching this, and could probably watch it over and over and over again. I enjoyed this a lot, and I’m excited for what is to come in the sequel.

I give this an 85% on the God scale.
