I am a huge fan of D. Gray-Man's manga, the anime does a fair job of depicting a story I love so much. D. Gray-Man's story is interesting and the dark fantasy world that's created is fascinating. The story has plenty of feels and fight scenes to create a great mix of emotions and action. However, there are some filler episodes that just turned me off. They seemed cheap and completely distracted me from the flow of the story. I really do recommend D. Gray-Man, but save yourself the trouble and skip the filler episodes. If you do, you'll find an anime with a colorful cast of characters each with their own demons, very real emotions, action at every turn, and an intriguing story.

If you watch the anime and like it, definitely try out the manga. The story that continues after the anime finishes is full of twist and turns.
